Mt warning - climb and travel This famous icon of the Tweed/Byron area has been listed in the ‘Top 10 Australian Mountains to Climb’ by Australian Geographic, has been climbed by thousands of people and even acted as a warning to Captain James Cook over 200 years ago on his voyage along the East Coast of Australia (prompting him to name it Mount Warning to alert future sea travelers of the dangerous offshore reefs). Because Mt warning stands out for miles! Seen for miles, Very High with a sharp point on the top, easy to recognize from a distance!

I loved this hike, and have done it alot since the first time doing it, i have done this hike both during the day and an early 1AM start to see the sun rise! Mt Warning is the first to see the sunrise it is beautiful after hiking to the summit and having the rewards of the sunrise and or fantastic views! Always have a sense of achievement when getting to the summit!

Helicopter points mt warning This is a well marked hike, paths are well designed so you wont get lost, you will notice a few helicopter pads on the way up, really nice out of the sun bush hike, (not in direct sunlight / covered by the trees which is nice) the vertical climb with the chains is so much fun before reaching the summit.

Beautiful plants, wildlife, and the sun through the trees.

Notes Toilets are available only at the start of the walk, can be very busy with lots of people hiking up, Traffic jams at the chains, can be slippery in wet conditions take care. Would recommend grippy shoes, (comfy shoes) Make sure you bring lots of Water can be very hot on the way up but It can get a bit cold too near the top so bring a jumper in case , Also bring some food so you can top up your energy levels when you reach the summit.
