Rope workings for Sunday 23/10/2016

(# climbs/abs) multiplied by the height

(20metre cliff using 33metre ropes)

20 clients should get x2 or 3 goes on the 20metre cliff

2 abseils each x height 20 metres = 40units each client,

 X20 clients = 800units

3 abseils each x height 20 metres = 60units each client,

X20 clients = 1200 units each rope *warning this is wash time recommend only having x2 goes at the 20s

1 go at the 50 metre cliff = 50 units x20 clients is 1000 units

Days Notes on how the session went:-

I arrived at 7am nice and early to make sure everything goes to plain,

Morning session went really well for running my second session a lot more confident.

I helped Eni with a client who was upset and really scared, shaking and nervous, because eni was on top belay i think it was a little hard for her to give a little bit more one on one, so i went over and helped talk the client through, i was able to get close to her and calm her down and then re-talk her though what she needed to do to abseil. We both got her to abseil and she was very happy afterwards when it was over.

I did top belay and managed the team and clients, I choose to do top belay after everyone had there first go, (first abseil) i think its important to have an extra team member to be able to go over to a client and give that extra one on one being able to calm them down. Was really good feedback . I still remember myself when i first abseiled and i relate it to that.

Things to take note of is harnesses always checking and rechecking, – making sure staff/ team help out, i don’t need to do everything. Tom made a note to me that i should keep telling people what to do, keep getting the staff and team to help me.  Eni remember x3 safety rules in brief.

Tom said we should do the x3 safety rules once we get to the top of mt Ngungun, then harness/ safety gear fitting everyone, and then the demo that way the three safety rules gets everyone together but also it is the most important part!

Otherwise awesome session feeling a lot more confident.

Afternoon session ran by Eni,

Awesome session i did top belay and walk out on the 50, packing up gear, got a lot of feedback for Eni as well, always really good to get good feedback!  Awesome long day.
